In 1945 Rolex launched the first Datejust ref. 4467, the first chronometer with an automatic calendar. This new model marked Rolex's 40th anniversary and the end of the WWII. 

With the creation of the quick-set date, Rolex introduces in 1977 the new Datejust ref. 16000, among other references. Twelve years later, Rolex launched the reference 16233.
